At Exotic Metals LLP our Industrial Gaskets are the silent guardians of piping integrity. A gasket is a mechanical seal that fills the microscopic space between two mating surfaces—usually pipe flanges—to prevent the leakage of liquids or gases. Even the most precisely machined flanges have surface irregularities; a gasket functions by deforming under "bolt load" to flow into these imperfections, creating a barrier that is impermeable to the internal medium.

The industry standard for high-pressure systems. These consist of a V-shaped metallic strip spirally wound with a soft filler material (like Graphite or PTFE). Outer Ring: Centers the gasket and acts as a blow-out preventer. Inner Ring: Prevents "inward buckling" of the windings and protects the seal from turbulence.

Solid metallic gaskets machined from forged steel. These are designed for the most severe high-pressure services (Class 600 to 2500). They fit into a machined groove on the flange face, creating a metal-to-metal seal through a high-force wedge effect. Styles: R (Oval or Octagonal), RX (Pressure-energized).

These feature a solid metal core with concentric serrations on both sides, covered with a soft layer of Graphite or PTFE. They offer the structural stability of a solid metal gasket with the excellent sealing properties of a soft filler, making them ideal for heat exchangers and large-diameter flanges.

Cut from sheets of Compressed Non-Asbestos Fiber (CNAF), PTFE, or Elastomers. These are used in low-to-medium pressure applications where the bolt load is limited, such as in water treatment and general chemical processing.

Consist of a soft filler core partially or totally enclosed in a thin metallic jacket. These are frequently used in heat exchangers and boilers where the sealing surface is narrow.
